This new pip-installable package, https://pypi.org/project/passagemath-polymake/, is part of the set of Python packages of https://github.com/passagemath that together provide the full functionality of SageMath.
"pip install -v passagemath-polymake" installs Perl, Perl prerequisites of polymake, and polymake from source (unless it finds a suitable installation of polymake in the system). After installation, polymake can be used from the command line or from Python via the JuPyMake API, through sage.interfaces.polymake, or via the (previously announced) package https://pypi.org/project/passagemath-polyhedra/
In https://github.com/passagemath/passagemath/pull/1982, I am now working on (filesystem-relocatable) binary packaging of polymake. Help is welcome.
