polymake 3.1 released
Posted: 05 Apr 2017, 15:17
Dear polymake users,
on behalf of all our developers I am happy to announce the new release 3.1 of
our polymake system.
As you can see from the release notes at
https://polymake.org/doku.php/news/release_3_1
there are many changes including several major refactorings for speeding up some
of our core algorithms.
One main focus was to improve the user experience. For instance, the online
documentation was improved by adding explicit examples. Moreover, the new
polymake 3.1 can be used via jupyter's notebook frontend (thanks to Sebastian
Gutsche). Please try
polymake --script jupyter
(with jupyter pre-installed).
Answering to a popular request we also added some of our unit tests to the
distribution. This way it should be simple to check if building the system
worked out alright.
Please give feedback - good or bad - preferably at
https://forum.polymake.org/
Happy polymaking!
