Re: polymake 4.7 fails to compile on FreeBSD i386

Hi Benjamin,

thank you very much for the hint. This indeed fixes the issue. I updated my patch for the ports tree accordingly.

polymake 4.7 fails to compile on FreeBSD i386

polymake 4.7 fails to compile on FreeBSD 13.1-Release i386; to be more specific: it fails to compile in a jail when testing the FreeBSD port with `poudriere testport`. The error is the following: [798/944] c++ -c -o /wrkdirs/usr/ports/math/polymake/work/polymake-4.7/build/Opt/apps/topaz/grass_plucke...

Testsuite regression with nauty on FreeBSD

Hi everyone, after importing this patch by Benjamin Lorenz, it is now possible to compile polymake without having access to the nauty sources. Unfortunately, this patch introduces a regression in the testsuite: *** Testing in application common *** testing Examples: [ /common/property_types/Set Type...

Re: polymake on FreeBSD -- some questions and help needed

I am not sure about the definition for provided but that library it should not be relevant for for any compiled packages. This is from 'pkg info polymake', which reports Shared Libs provided: libpolymake-apps-rt.so.4.4 libpolymake.so.4.4 The port is submitted . If everything works out it should soo...

Re: polymake on FreeBSD -- some questions and help needed

Hello Benjamin, I somehow missed your reply on Friday. Sorry about that. Thank you very much for those two patches! But I got some other errors during the build: error: /usr/local/lib/libnormaliz.a(reduction.o): requires dynamic R_X86_64_PC32 reloc against '__stack_chk_guard' which may overflow at r...

Re: polymake on FreeBSD -- some questions and help needed

I need to get the final clarity about this topic: Is DESTDIR specified only when the port is built and prepared for packaging, or also when a ready binary package is installed on the target system? When polymake is eventually running, will it see the full paths including that DESTDIR part, or just ...

Re: polymake on FreeBSD -- some questions and help needed

libnormaliz is used for quite a lot of things, so having this would be really nice and I might have a look if you can provide some details. With this patch applied, the content of build/bundled.log is as follows (I've also attached the file): Configuration of the following bundled extensions failed...

Re: polymake on FreeBSD -- some questions and help needed

Hello, thank you both very much for your replies and help! Because of problems with the respective ports, libnormaliz and SymPol are currently disabled. Java support is disabled, too, as neither javaview nor jReality are currently in the ports tree. The java based visualization backends are not deve...

polymake on FreeBSD -- some questions and help needed

Hello everyone, I am currently working on bringing polymake into the FreeBSD ports system. It builds fine and the testsuite runs without errors. I am working with the polymake-4.4-minimal version. Because of problems with the respective ports, libnormaliz and SymPol are currently disabled. Java supp...
